Granville Boys High School hosted the YPI's first 2013 Video Conference on August. Senior students from Cabramatta High School, Masada College, Australian International Academy and Auburn Girls High School came together to discuss the topic "Religion and Peace." The video conference was facilitated by ABC journalist and broadcaster Andrew West who inspired critical thought and group discussion between students discussing topics including, the role of religion in world conflicts, how religion can promote peace and the media portrayals of religions and conflicts. . Filmmaker Kuranda Seyit spoke about his documentary which focused on the persecution of the Rohingya people in Burma and the human rights violations in the country. NSW Spoken Word Champion Zohab Khan ended the day performing some of his poems and conducted a short poetry workshop with the students, where students were encouraged to think about what peace means to them.
